Seoul Question

Had a pretty detailed conversation with a seoul taxi driver yesterday about the state of the mongering scene in seoul..

General state of things (according to driver):

Jangan-dong anma neighborhood has sort of come back to life after the past 6 months of repeated police raids, but most of the businesses moved out to Kimpo Shin-Do-Si (looks like its nearby Ilsan - maybe a 20-30 minute ride from central seoul).

Yongsan, 588 and Miari are all in operation but quieter than before, especially Miari.

There is an alley of motels by the woori bank headquarters in north seoul (nearby city hall and shinsege shopping center) which offer girls, quality is not so great but rumored to be the cheapest in seoul.

and now the interesting bit of info - there are now quite a few PRC girls in Seoul!  Many live around Dae-lim-dong, but have now set up massage/KTVs/etc. in a little town across the river from Dae-lim-dong called Cheol-san dong.

I figure I will go try to check out this area on foot sometime, but does anyone have any more info on this/or can you confirm?  Would be great to find some super PRC girls in Seoul!

My time in Seoul I just tried to pick up normal girls at the clubs. There wasn't obvious marketing of WGs, of course I could've been oblivious to this as I would be a total noob about the WG set up in Seoul.

Nice to know that it's available as a backup plan

I lived in Seoul for a while and I must say I don't think I ever ran into PRC girls.

In terms of Jang ann dong anma, while it maybe true that the particular area has died down since it's prime, now almost all anma places in Seoul adopted some kind of variation on that style. I don't know if it is coincidence but areas near KOEX mall or Itaewon where there are many foreigner tend to have anma's or HJ places that are far over priced.

Quite frankly due to some racial tensions the best bet is to have a native korean friend, but I would suggest that if in Seoul check out the Garak Market area. Garak is a large fish market in Seoul and because of the odd working hours, there is actually a quite vibrant scene near the market.
