When I get the new one sounds worth it.  Looks like it's 200ish to updgrade in the US

Guys, AT&T no longer offer unlimited data for the iPhone unless u have grandfathered into it. It will start off at $15 for data. $25 for 2 gig and then $10 for each additional gig. If u don't already own an iPhone u can't get the unlimited plan. It will be cheaper for those that don't use much data, but for those who downloads movies and all sort of stuff, they will be paying a lot more.

It's too bad there's no integrated keyboard like the Android phones. I wish there was a perherpial keyboard that was bluetooth or something.

Saw the press conference video and am glad that video calls are possible now. But apparently it is only enabled on WiFi and not through normal 3G... which sucks...

Don't think 3G bandwidth for now can ever take video calls. With the new SKYPE app update and the iPone 4 OS multitasking capability now enabled for 3G, you will no longer have to pay crazy rates for roaming charges again.

One thing I really look forward to is the multitasking and the A4 chip which makes it possible. If I get this phone, Im getting a 3g plan in China for sure!

Expecting to get when it comes out later this month.  Will report on it then.  Have skype on iPhone now but am unable to really get any use out of it.  It seems slow to load and log on etc. Do you use it on iPhone and are there any tips you have to make it easy to use.

Doesn't look like Nokia is going to lie down and give up. This may be a good alternative to those who don't want to buy apple products.


Nokia wants to stay No1 in smartphones
Nokia has vowed to defend its number one position in the lucrative smartphone business, despite fierce pressure from the iPhone and Research in Motion's Blackberry.
The Finnish giant's latest top-end device, the touch-screen N8, was unveiled at its annual Asian trade event in Singapore yesterday. It was first announced in late April.
The regional launch of the N8 comes exactly one week after Apple chief executive Steve Jobs unveiled an upgraded version of the phenomenally successful iPhone in San Franciso.

Smartphones are advanced handsets capable of internet surfing, video recording and other multimedia functions on top of voice and text messaging. The N8 is based on the company's updated Symbian operation system.
"Nokia's leadership has been questioned in recent months," Jo Harlow, senior vice president for smartphones, said in an opening speech at the event.
"However, it is often overlooked that we continue to have the largest market share in mobile devices and the largest share in smartphones, which is the fastest growing segment," she said.
Nokia is still the world's top mobile phone maker but the company has struggled to find an answer to the iPhone and Blackberry in the smartphone sector, where profit margins are much higher.
In April, Nokia announced it managed to grow the company's smartphone market share to 41 per cent from an estimated 40 per cent in October-December 2009.
In absolute figures, it meant Nokia sold 21.5 million of the 52.6 million smartphones sold globally during the first quarter.
"The mobile telecom business as we once knew it, no longer exists," said Harlow.
"Today's smartphones are capable of doing things that were considered impossible not long ago."

Had a Nokia way back when.  Liked it.  Didn't realize how big they are.  If their product is good people will buy.  iPhone may end up a fad at the end of the day.  It is not as good as blackberry.  Maybe new iPhone will be a big leap forward.

I for the most part had good experiences with Nokia (having owned 3) but I find that the camera quality on them are pretty terrible and they start lagging after about 9 months of use. I was a huge Sony Ericsson fan until I purchased a c905... In less than 10 minutes of use it broke down. I tried getting it fixed through their customer service line but had the worst absolute experience just trying to talk to the guy. I paid them 120 CAD for the analyze what was wrong with it only for them to tell me it won't work. So I'm never going to buy another Sony phone. I really hope that Nokia will bring their A-game again to the arena.

Have not tried yet.  Waiting till the dust settles then will get it.  Do you get it from phone carrier or apple direct.

Just That iPhone will have new antenna that will reduce liklihood of dropped calls. So we were all led to believe it was overburdened networks that caused te dropped iPhone calls. Being told the iPhone was so popular that it put too much stress on network ccapparently has to do with weak antenna in exisiting iPhone. This proves how valuable information and misinformation can be

still havent got a preorder in, but apples site keeps crashing and atts site is down for maintenance..

Did not realize the A4 Chip is also in the Ipad.  Apple has done a great job in marketing apple and not the "chip".  in the computer wars, dell and hp price and model their machines it seems based upon chip horsepower.  in today's world almost everything has the horsepower, but they are still stuck on old marketing/prcing technique, whereas apple downplays the chip totally. anyway glad the iphone has the power.

Only the black iPhone 4 is available. The white one is still not out yet. I like the white one so Im gonna wait before upgrading my phone. U can try preordering on AT&T site also, but it's running slow also.

AT&T suspends iPhone pre-orders amid record demand

AT&T suspended pre-orders for the new iPhone on Wednesday as Apple apologized for the difficulties experienced by customers seeking to sign up to get one of the hot-selling smartphones.
Apple said it had received 600,000 pre-orders for the iPhone 4, which goes on sale in Britain, France, Germany, Japan and the United States on June 24, "the largest number of pre-orders Apple has ever taken in a single day."
The Cupertino, California, firm said demand was "far higher than we anticipated, resulting in many order and approval system malfunctions.

"Many customers were turned away or abandoned the process in frustration," Apple said in a statement.
"We apologize to everyone who encountered difficulties, and hope that they will try again or visit an Apple or carrier store once the iPhone 4 is in stock," Apple said.
AT&T said that pre-order sales were "10-times higher than the first day of pre-ordering for the iPhone 3GS last year" and it was suspending the process.
"Given this unprecedented demand and our current expectations for our iPhone 4 inventory levels when the device is available June 24, we're suspending pre-ordering today in order to fulfill the orders we've already received," AT&T said.
Apple and AT&T websites were overwhelmed by requests on Tuesday, the first day of pre-ordering for the iPhone 4, with many customers reporting receiving error messages.
AT&T is the exclusive carrier for the iPhone in the United States.
Apple chief executive Steve Jobs unveiled the new iPhone earlier this month. It features video chat, can shoot and edit high-definition quality video and has a crisper resolution screen.
The iPhone 4 costs 199 US dollars for the 16 gigabyte model and 299 US dollars for the 32GB version.
The touchscreen smartphone, which comes in black and white versions, will be available in 18 other countries in July and 24 more in August.
Apple has sold more than 50 million iPhones since it launched the touchscreen smartphone in 2007.
Apple shares were trading 2.33 percent higher at 265.73 US dollars at mid-day while shares in AT&T were down 0.35 percent to 25.45 US dollars.
