Any bets on a date when HK opens up to the rest of the world?

I figure HK will not open up for international travel, beyond the current stifled 2/3 weeks quarantine for fully vaccinated, until after the Olympics in Feb.

Any best guesses out there?

From what I have been hearing lately .. March/April next year..

I think it also depends on Herd immunity in China, they now want 85% of the population vaccinated before considering the borders opening. It is now at 78% but I cannot see them opening before Chinese New Year

I totally agree bro. Early 2022 after the CNY would be the earliest.

PRC is closed until 2023.

HK will likely follow.

I’m hoping they start opening after CNY/Olympics…even if it’s incremental.

Perhaps they’ll be like our antipodean friends and finally see the light.   Two months ago who would have thought that Oz would open so soon and so quickly?

Recent FT report suggest Nov 2022…

The policy is expected to last into 2022 — possibly until after the Chinese Communist party congress in November, according to one Chinese government official — and authorities have not proposed any timeline for loosening the rules.
