Most areas are just walk-ins. Knock the door, check her out, and then ask her the price. THeres no pressure to buy after checking and you can knock other doors and browse through other floors. Well, they do have heavy surveillance so dont just go there for a joy ride or act wierd. Sign language works wonders (in this case, showing cash). And don't bargain =)

Think they are all the same.  If you really want to go to kowloon side, you can try going to Mong Kok near portland street. Those places are more like agencies where you go in, talk to a "papa" and pick what you want. Selection is huge and all the venues are probably under 1 big organization. Safe but be cautious. No one wants trouble and everyone wants your cash.

1) Probably. I find the greatest proportion of good English speakers are in Wanchai and CWB. And a lot of hotel girls (TST's not bad). I stay away from Mong Kok and Jordan usually, partly just because it can be too busy and hard to find my way around, I know HK island much better.

2) Should be fine. I always call and prefer them to come to me, but I don't think you have to. I just don't like the idea of waiting outside a room with a bunch of other embarressed guys.

3) Learn a tiny bit of Cantonese smalltalk (or possibly Mandarin as so many are from the mainland now). I've been learning the language on and off for three years but I'm still no where near fluent, but if you can just speak a handful of sentences respectfully and understand basics that would help. ("Ngoh sik gong yat de guangdongwa, ok la?" - I speak a little Cantonese, that ok? etc)

4) The Japanese/Korean girls. Often speak better English and some are a little more mature. Lots of them are hotel girls though.
