Actually, it was me who wrote about taking their WHOLE family to Dim Sum and I am not rich. I am just an average middle class guy. In their eyes, every single foreigner is rich. Each time I went, I felt taken advantage of, being used and interrogated.
I have done it a few times in the USA. It costed me sometimes around 350.00 USD for lunch. In my view, paying 2-3 dollars for tea is a rip off. Ten people that is 20-30 dollars. Then add tax and tip on the tea. Then waiting for about 60 mins for a table. Takeout would be a lot cheaper.
Anyway Dim Sum is expensive anywhere in the world. Luckily in Asian, the USD goes a long way.
