Good advise and should lower your rates in a lot of instances - but not necessarily the lowest price availalble.

When I was running the Asia region, head office had their corporate planner division negotiate master deals with hotels and we used the corporate rate for our staff as well as even our customers. We THOUGHT we got the best rates until my secretary started double checking "voucher prices" with the travel agents she used in a personal capacity.

And the fact of the matter is that she got hotel rooms for much cheaper for her own friends/relatives by using these pre-paid vouchers i/o using our corporate rates.

So I suggest you should double check all of TT's methods above as well as the hotel vouchers method - and figure out for yourself which comes out cheaper. Mind you, just to put TT's numbers in perspective - we had about a thousand personnel in Asia alone and well over 10,000 worldwide PLUS our God knows how many customers who regularly asks us to book rooms for them using our corporate rate; and the hotel vouchers still beats such corporate rate hands down as these hotel wholesalers DO have much bigger volume/can negotiate sharper deals.

Just IMHO
