On quoting - OK - I'll try again. Follow the following format
[quite] BUT type "quote" and not "quite" ....followed by a C+P of whatever you want to quote....followed by again the word quote i/o quite [/quite]
That should get your quoted passage identified as a quote.
on 2-5-8 basically it just identifies the charges for the company of a KTV girl - in this case, RMB 200 "sitting fee" for her to sit with you all night to drink, party etc at the KTV, RMB 500 INCLUSIVE of the sitting fee for one pop after the KTV session i.e only another RMB 300 extra on top of their sitting fee, whilst RMB 800 is what you need to give her IN TOTAL for sitting with you all night at the KTV followed by an all night session/she sleeping with you till the next morning. So - we on in May to celebrate your birthday in CP??!!
On mongering localities differences and quirks - I'm particularly impressed by netlan's preparation and pre-research prior to coming to Hong Kong - for indeed, I subscribe to the idea about doing what the Romans do. Whether its Shanghai, CP, Hong Kong, Thailand or wherever - there's nothing worse than to try to impose your own druthers and requirements on the local scene - for all it does is force the issue to make your own experience lacking.
And as far as which location or experience is better or worse - it all boils down to YMMV and the maxim I always use when mongering - go and enjoy myself no matter what the circumstances. I'm there to enjoy it all - period!
